Sub: Introduction of SMS (Short Message Service) mode of communication of financial transactions/MIS

In our continuous strive to improve service orientation, by way of making our operations more efficient, responsive, accountable and transparent to meet the ever-growing aspirations of our clients, we are introducing SMS mode of communication of financial transactions and Managerial Information Systems to our clients as well as for for our staff and pensioners.

In this connection it is requested to forward the cell phone no and email-id of your unit and the active contractors to EDP Centre of this office for further action.Those units who have already provided phone nos & email-ids are not required to send them again.

1. Information regarding real time budget details can be obtained by sending the SMS in the following format .No special characters should be used.

BUDGET <UNITCODE> <CODEHEAD>

Example: BUDGET 5412 8425501

Reply will be in the following format:

“Budget position as on <DATE> for <CODEHEAD> ………….. Allotment ……. Spent ……… Balance

2. Information regarding bill position can be obtained by sending SMS in the following format .

BILL <UNITCODE> <BILL AMOUNT> <FORWARDING MEMO DATE>

Example :BILL 5412 5000 01/06/2011

3. Information regarding the pension amount can be obtained by sending SMS in the following format .

PENSION <H.O.NO> <MONTH>

Example :PENSION T18018 6
