DPDO

          The pension wing comprising defence pension disbursement to over 1.11 lakh defence pensioners through the 11 southern DPDOs was brought under the administrative control of the CDA Chennai in May 1989.

          All the 11 DPDOs have been decentralized for generating the pension schedules through computer on their own.

           7 of the 11 DPDOs and both the Zonal Offices have been ISO Certified to ISO 9001 : 2000 standards.

           Single window concept for attending pensioners’ grievances implemented in all the DPDOs.

           Disbursement of pension through ECS wherever RBI has made it possible.

          Better amenities to the pensioners – pensioners waiting hall, tables, chairs, water dispenser, newspapers, provision of various forms and formats and assistance – provided in all DPDOs.

           Continual improvement of service delivery process :

           First payment made on the day the pensioner turns up

           Facility of annual identification at the PSB branch in addition to DPDO

          Holding of Mini Defence Pension Adalats along with annual inspection solely for the benefit of the DPDO Pensioners

           Fixing time-norms for each activity in the DPDO and adherence thereto
